EDITOR’S NOTE

I embark today on what is shaping up to be a treacherous journey vis-à-vis clothing: Austin, Texas in the summer.

Gross.

What do you even do with that 96 mile an hour fastball?? Cotton is out of the picture. Pants don’t have a place in your bag. Damp linen and multiple showers per day feel all but unavoidable. Wish me luck! (And lmk if you know of any unmissable barbecue joints.)

Anyway, let’s tap into today.

LUXURY
Looking Ahead…

In stark contrast to the temperatures I’ll be enduring this weekend, consider these tailored trousers for the fall.

Lemaire

The Lemaire Maxi Workwear Pants in heather have a relaxed fit with a slight pleat that adds volume without looking bulky. Made from a soft and durable fabric, these pants balance casual comfort with a refined edge suitable for elevated everyday wear. They have a utilitarian feel but remain neat enough for smart settings. The design includes practical pockets and a wide silhouette that flows well with different tops.

The Lemaire Straight Tailored Pants in dark grey are cut from a fine wool blend with a smooth, slightly textured finish. They have a straight leg that is relaxed but tailored to keep a clean line without clinging. These pants sit comfortably at the waist with curved pockets and neat hems that keep their shape. Ideal for formal occasions or the office, they blend durability and classic style with modern tailoring.

WORKWEAR
Green Sun Hats

L.L. Bean

The Pistil Trent Hat for men from L.L. Bean gives solid sun protection with its wide brim and UPF 50+ rating. Made from lightweight, quick-drying nylon with ventilating mesh panels, it keeps you cool during outdoor activities. It’s packable and has an adjustable chin cord, making it easy to carry and secure. We like its mix of function and a casual style that works on hikes or sunny urban days.

L.L. Bean

The Henschel Allport Packer Hat from L.L. Bean is a waxed cotton bucket style with a rugged, weather-resistant finish. It brings the sturdy feel of classic workwear to your headwear, perfect for damp or windy days. This hat sits comfortably and offers timeless protection without fuss, pairing well with layered outdoor looks.

STREETWEAR
PNW 🤝 Japan

Manastash is a lifestyle and streetwear brand established in 1993 in Seattle. The brand takes its name from Manastash Ridge, a mountainous area located east of the Cascade Range in the Pacific Northwest, known for outdoor activities.

The brand originally served outdoor enthusiasts but gained popularity in Japan, where it became particularly well-loved during the 1990s. When Japan stans, we stan.

Manastash

The Manastash Rip Down Vest in sage offers lightweight warmth with a water-resistant shell filled with premium down insulation. Its clean, natural color and simple cut make layering easy while keeping your core cozy without extra bulk. It has practical pockets and a minimal design that fits streetwear and outdoorsy styles equally.

The Manastash Thermal Fleece Vest in black mixes a soft fleece body with panel details that add texture and interest without overwhelming the look. It’s good for chilly days when you want some extra warmth but prefer a slim fit over bulky layers. We see this as a great layering piece that adds both function and a streetwise edge.

FORMAL WEAR
For Your Entertainment

I don’t expect anyone to actually click into these, but this is just artwork from Paul Stuart… Full cashmere sport coats in the most insane summer colors. Hats all the way off, these are awesome. Warning: prohibitively expensive.

Paul Stuart

Paul Stuart's Double-Faced Cashmere Soft Jacket exists in refined shades and has a smooth, plush feel that dresses up any outfit effortlessly. Made from double-faced cashmere, it hugs comfortably with a slight stretch and boasts a soft sheen. The jacket works well for cooler evenings or formal settings where you want to be sharp but comfortable. Its clean lines and subtle structure keep it from feeling stuffy.

The same jacket in a yellow offers the same smooth texture and luxe appeal, giving you an alternative that fits with multiple wardrobe tones. Both colors maintain the elegance and softness that stands out without shouting.

ONE LAST THING….
How Many Bathing Suits Do Guys Need?

Hive & Colony

One. You really only need one great swim short. One that you’re pumped to wear. One that’s got a good print or color. One that’s functional when you’re on-shoring it with the boys. I’m talking metal aglets, deep pockets, and generous waistband expansion.

No matter how you slice up a trip that involves swimming, you can absolutely get away with one slick pair. There’s no valid argument against spending a bit on one swimsuit you love, because it’s the only swimsuit you’re going to need for years.

Rare is the wardrobe category that can be reduced to a single item. This is one of those categories.

As always, thanks for reading!
