EDITOR’S NOTE
🚨 Long weekend alert 🚨 Thankfully we have a three-day weekend here in the States, and it’s an epic lineup for football fans. First we’ve got NFL quarterfinals, then there’s the college final on Monday. I, for one, will be oh so very locked in.
Click here for a little dose of excellence. Thank me later.
Anyway, let’s tap into today.
WORKWEAR
S-tier Black Denim
These black jeans from Stevenson Overall Co. come in their Encinitas cut, which runs slim through the thigh and tapers to the ankle. The fabric is a 14oz rope-dyed denim that will fade over time with wear. Stevenson is known for making repro denim that honors old American details while using modern Japanese mills.
STREETWEAR
Simple Pleasures: FA Lounge Pants
There’s no need to reinvent the wheel folks… Great skate pants are made by a) Palace and b) FA. They’re so dialed in this season. And their store in the East Village is a good time.
FA World's corduroy lounge pants are cut wide through the leg in a burnout tan-green color. The fabric has a soft hand and the elastic waist makes these easy to wear around the house or out the homestead.
These track pants from FA World come in a navy with contrast piping down the sides. The fit is relaxed but not baggy, and the cotton-poly blend means they hold their shape better than pure cotton. Good for actual fall skating or just wearing when comfort is the priority.
FORMAL WEAR
Pretty Knit Ties
This blue cashmere knit from Eidos Napoli is made in Italy and works as a soft layer under a sport coat or on its own. Pure cashmere makes it light, and the knit texture adds visual interest to what could be a plain piece.
What do we think about flat bottom ties? I think there’s a place for them in the a well-rounded closet.
The rust and green tones in this Eidos tie give you colors that work well in fall but aren't limited to one season. The wool-silk blend has more texture than pure silk, which keeps it from looking too formal. Good width at around 3 inches. ( ⏸ )
OFFICE WEAR
Tasty Fleeces
Drake's takes their boucle wool fabric and shapes it into a zip-front jacket that looks sharp over a button-down. The texture of the boucle gives it more presence than a standard fleece, and the navy color works with almost any pant you own. This is warm enough for cool office temps but not so heavy you'll overheat.
Same as the navy version above, but in ecru, which is an off-white cream color. This lighter shade works well when you want a jacket that stands out a bit more while keeping the same refined look. The boucle texture shows up better in this color too.
ONE LAST THING….
New site, who dis?
I tried making a new personal website to see for myself what all this hullabaloo about AI-assisted “vibe coding” is. As it happens, the tools are quite good.
Check out lukesanabria.com
I’ve never written a line of code in my life, but 90 minutes in Claude Code got me that far…
Should I revamp the homepage of todayinmenswear.com????
As always, thanks for reading!
