EDITOR’S NOTE

Hey, folks. Feeling good with the day off today for Juneteenth and the Celtics securing their 18th NBA title on Monday. Hope you’re coping with this heatwave in the northeast… don’t be afraid to undo one more button than you’re usually comfortable with. Today’s song of the day is Foreign by James Blake — this Brit found a nice pocket.

Anyway, thanks for reading!

LUXURY
JW Anderson Spring 2025

Jonathan Anderson presented a cozy and playful SS25 collection at Milan Fashion Week, inviting guests to embrace the theme of "REAL SLEEP." Between Loewe, mass-market collabs and his own brand, Jonathan is busy! The eponymous British brand showcased padded silhouettes, quilted coats, oversized bombers, and modern denim dresses with a focus on comfort and relaxation. The collection also featured a collaboration with Guinness, adding a touch of whimsy to the runway. (Btw: the Guinness 0 is the best non-alcoholic beer on the market.)

WORKWEAR
Flexible Performance Short

Today and yesterday have been hot enough that I’m further delving into short territory despite my better instincts. The 6" Deep End Short from Rhone is a hybrid trunk designed for seamless transition from daytime recreation (swimming, running, etc.) to dinner plans. These lined shorts allow you to ditch an outfit change, making them a valuable vacation essential. Crafted with quick-drying fabric, they offer both style and function for your next getaway, and just look better than what Vuori and Lulu are doing. FWIW, I think the beige colorway is even better than the black pictured above.

STREETWEAR
Nepenthes Sale

Nepenthes is one of, if not the premier, multi-brand retailers of Japanese street fashion. Stocking some of the most essential Japanese street brands like Engineered Garments and Needles, the store blesses our hearts and wallets with sales sporadically, and their Summer Sale has now begun. Please make use of the opportunity to grab a Needles velour tracksuit or just view this very diverse array of footwear options.

FORMAL WEAR
Italian Drivers

Tod's Gommino Driving Shoes are a classic suede loafer style with the brand's signature rubber pebbles on the outsole. These Italian-made slip-ons provide comfort and style for casual occasions. The supple suede uppers come in versatile shades like navy, brown, and tan - perfect for summer. While there are lower cost summer styles to consider like mocks or Sabahs, the driver is a shoe that does not go out of style and works through the late fall.

OFFICE WEAR
Vince Knit Polo

Vince is another one of those “Uniqlo Editor’s Choice” brands alongside Cos that makes recognizable staples really well. Sub out the Uighur cotton for Pima cotton from Peru, pay the garment worker, charge the customer more than they’re used to, and you end up with this Vince Polo that last’s longer than six months! If the price tag on a polo like this feels unpalatable, I’d really challenge you to consider why your $39.99 version feels so shitty after one dry and whether you’re okay with doing more of that. But yeah, Vince!

ONE LAST THING….
