EDITOR’S NOTE

We’re going to award song of the day to this. Feeling confident about it, too.

Anyway, let’s tap into today.

LUXURY
Dainty French Layers

Arpenteur

This chore coat uses a heavy cotton moleskin woven in France, giving it a soft hand and a matte finish that works across seasons. The jacket has a straight cut with enough room through the chest and shoulders to layer a sweater beneath, while patch pockets sit low enough to be useful without adding visual weight. Arpenteur keeps details clean with corozo buttons, reinforced stitching at stress points, and a split back yoke for ease of movement. The tobacco shade is dark enough to hide wear but warm enough to break up an all-navy or gray outfit.

Arpenteur

This jacket uses a brushed wool and nylon blend that traps warmth while keeping the fabric light enough to layer under a topcoat or wear on its own during fall. Raglan sleeves give the shoulders a clean, rounded line with more range of motion than set-in sleeves, while snap buttons run the front for quick closure. Two slant pockets sit at hip level, and the turquoise tone works as a neutral that pairs with gray, navy, or tan trousers. Made in France with fabric that's sturdy enough to handle daily wear without looking stiff or formal.

(Low key an excellent gift for girlies, too…)

FORMAL WEAR
Reprise for Kamakura Shirts

Kamakura

We've talked about Kamakura Shirts before, but they maintain their spot in the sun. Sometimes the best choice is the one that quietly works every single time. No surprises, no letdowns, just a shirt that shows up exactly as promised.

The Classic Fit Oxford runs in the buck fifty range and hits that rare zone where the fabric, construction, and fit all land without compromise. This is a proper Oxford cloth with enough texture to read as substantial, but light enough to layer under a sport coat without bulk. The collar uses fused interlining that holds shape through the wash cycle, while the placket stays flat and the buttons (sewn through, not shanked) sit flush.

What I’m saying is that it’s perfect… Tap in.

Kamakura (I mean, look at this detail……..)

WORKWEAR
Boot Szn

I think it’s appropriate to talk boots again… I’ve already clocked two days in boots this season, so let’s welcome back Red Wing Shoes to TIM.

Red Wing Shoes

This 6-inch safety toe boot uses full-grain leather treated with oil and wax to resist water, paired with Red Wing's three-layer waterproof system that keeps feet dry without trapping heat. A non-metallic safety toe sets a high bar for impact absorption, while the extended suede collar cushions ankles during long shifts.

ESSENTIAL POINT: Built with welt construction, these can be resoled when the out sole wears through.

Red Wing Shoes

Red Wing's King Toe boot gives toes space to spread naturally during long bouts on concrete or uneven ground. The waterproof nubuck leather upper uses Red Wing's three-layer system to block moisture, while a non-metallic safety toe and electric hazard protection eat up light to medium-duty work. The sole is bonded directly to the leather for flex and grip on oily or wet surfaces, and at 3.5 pounds per boot, these feel closer to athletic shoes than typical safety footwear.

STREETWEAR
Purple Flows

Polar Skate Co.

This puffer uses a nylon shell with synthetic fill that keeps you warm in fall and early winter without adding the stiffness of heavier down jackets. The fit is boxy through the body with dropped shoulders, giving it that '90s outdoor gear shape that works over hoodies or sweaters. Elastic cuffs and hem help block wind, while side pockets are deep enough to keep hands warm or hold your phone and wallet. Dark violet is bold without being loud, and the color holds up better than black as the fabric ages.

Polar Skate Co.

Made from a heavy cotton fleece with a brushed interior, this hoodie traps heat and softens with each wash without losing its shape. The cut is relaxed through the chest and sleeves, with ribbed cuffs and a roomy kangaroo pocket that sits low enough to actually use. Polar's small logo hits the chest, keeping graphics minimal while the dark violet stays vibrant through multiple wash cycles. It's the hoodie you reach for when you need warmth and don't want to think about it.

How to Backpack

While I think roll-top backpacks are weird, a backpack buckled at the chest or waist (just not both) is cool. Nobody encourages use of that functionality more than Osprey, who are probably the best backpacker in the game.

Osprey

The Talon 11 is an 11-liter pack built for trail running and day hikes. It has a front shove-it pocket for quick-grab items, side mesh pockets for bottles, and a zippered hip belt pocket that keeps your phone secure during movement. The back panel uses foam with channels cut through it, so air moves across your back rather than trapping heat. At this size, it carries everything you could plausibly fit in a backpack without bouncing or pulling your shoulders back.

Thinking about those bottom wings open with the chest strapped 😮‍💨 This is what I’d get if my current backpack broke down.

Osprey

This 20-liter cinch pack works if you need something smaller than a normal backpack but more structured than a drawstring bag. The main compartment has a wide opening with a cinch closure and a front zip pocket for keys or a wallet, while padded shoulder straps and a mesh back panel keep it stable during bike commutes or quick errands. It packs flat when not in use and has a reinforced base to handle being tossed on wet ground. Simple, light, and priced well.

ONE LAST THING….
KFM: Slack, Jira, Email

Here’s where I stand circa 2025:

  • Kill Jira - this is obvious. The worst platform ever.

  • F*** Slack - where anything but work happens… That’s my girl.

  • Marry Email - I guess this makes me closer to Milennial than Gen Z. Sorry not sorry.

Are we in agreement here?

As always, thanks for reading!
