LUXURY
Amiri K.O.

Amiri released this positively fantastic top and bottom swan tapestry set. This is where artistry surmounts everything in a designer’s process and results in a piece that you have to stop and stare at. The intricacies of this woven set had real swipe-stopping power for me, and I hope it does for you, too. Take a look in the link to see the bottoms and how they work together to make my current Favorite Fit of 2024.

WORKWEAR
Stüssy Denim Jacket

This denim work jacket from Stüssy has a relaxed fit with a zip closure and three patch pockets. It has nice details like double stitching and a suede logo patch. I like that it takes a swipe at being a modern piece without sacrificing the tradition of what a denim jacket is. It does a good job striking this balance and for that, it is featured.

STREETWEAR
Kapital Founder Passes :(

If you know anything about the convergence of Japanese denim and streetwear, you know that the cream of the crop is Kapital. Hirata-san, who passed away yesterday, influenced so many young designers and made sure that vintage techniques lived on when America turned away from home-spun denim. His legacy lives on through his son, the current owner.

FORMAL WEAR
Knit Button-down Polo

In obvious news, Madewell for men continues to deliver. This casual polo shirt is perfect for the office or weekend. Made from 100% cotton with a textured knit, it has a relaxed fit and classic camp collar. Pair it with denim or shorts for an easy, stylish look. I like the above color - washed olive - but there are also others.

OFFICE WEAR
Alex Mill Jeans

This pair of jeans looks like it came off the rack at L Train Vintage to me. The fading of indigo overtime you normally only get when you inherit decades-old jeans is the look you get right out of the box with this pair of 5-pocket originals from Alex Mill. It raises the question of if this is what they look like new, what will they look like after five years of wear? I’d be eager to find out.

ONE LAST THING….
Franky Flames

A timepiece that doubles as a lighter. Good God. Franck! The first generation Swiss watchmakers are so creative compared to the legacies…
