EDITOR’S NOTE
I am #tired today, folks. College friends in town means late nights, and while my fatigue used to set in after a couple nights of big activity, now even just one can knock me on my ass.
The amount of work done today was slimmer than Nathan Fielder’s watermelon in this clip.
Anyway, let’s tap into today.
LUXURY
Sumptuous J.Press Knits
J. Press makes this crew neck in Scotland from 100% hand brushed Shetland wool. The classic fit has set-in sleeves and a thick knit that is soft to the touch. Its ivory shade gives the Ivy staple a pale, quiet look.
Same hand brushed Shetland wool, bringing the Shaggy Dog into knit shirt form. The classic fit has a polo collar, a saddle shoulder, and a thick knit that is soft to the touch. Its deep navy shade pairs with grey trousers, a navy blazer, or dark denim.
WORKWEAR
Vermont Outdoors Brand: Tracksmith
Tracksmith cuts this long sleeve from an 84% polyester and 16% spandex knit that weighs 144 grams per square meter. Small vents across the body let sweat and heat escape, and the relaxed fit has a crew neck. The Polygiene finish resists odor, and the heathered colors work well beyond the run.
Tracksmith makes this jacket from a 100% polyester shell with a four-way stretch build and a PFC-free coating. A DWR finish sheds wind and light rain, and the mock neck zips to the chin. Two hand pockets with mesh bags help drainage, and a zip chest pocket fits a phone and stows the jacket itself.
FORMAL WEAR
Trouser Watch
Mr P. cuts these navy trousers from wool with double pleats. The pleats build volume at the hip and emphasize a wide leg. Part of a matching set, they suit a tailored wardrobe in a rich navy shade.
Mr P. cuts these cream trousers from a cotton and cashmere blend twill that retains its structure. The flat front leads to slim legs that widen subtly at the calf for a clean line. Its cream shade works with navy blazers, and the blend keeps the fabric soft.
OFFICE WEAR
More knits, this time Italian
This bomber is knit from a wool and nylon yarn in a double bicolour pattern at gauge 12, so the surface reads as a true sweater with some heft. The front zip and slanted pockets keep it close to a jacket in use. The fit is slim to regular with a bit of stretch, which lets it sit over a shirt without bunching at the shoulders. The grey and cream pairing works with navy or charcoal trousers, and the knit keeps it light enough for an overchilled office.
Lardini knits this polo in a fine gauge 16 jersey from 100% virgin wool, using superfine 120s merino. The yarn is RWS-certified. The regular fit and smooth, dense knit keep the silhouette clean rather than casual, and the polo reads polished enough for a meeting. The lightweight wool suits a room that runs cold but still needs a collared top under a jacket.
