Safari Jacket, Two New Boots, Excellent Oxford Shoe and a Land Rover Sweater

LUXURY
Elite Safari Jacket

Courtesy of Ghiaia

The safari jacket originated from British military uniforms designed for hot climates. With its breathable cotton fabric, multiple pockets, and belted waist, it blends genuine function (4+ pockets) and style. Designers like Yves Saint Laurent popularized this rugged yet refined garment, making it a menswear staple for both outdoor adventures and city living. The way Pasadena-based Ghiaia executed on a luxury take of the safari jacket is worth our collective gaze. Adjustable drawstring belt, horn buttons, made in Italy. It’s a horse of a jacket that works all year round when you figure out to style it.

WORKWEAR
Danner of Portland, OR: Boot maker

I know it’s not the ideal time of year for this, but the Cedar River boot from Danner is a rugged and stylish option for men to consider off-season. Good deals on this category exist in the height of summer as retailers look to clear out inventory for next year’s season. The Cedar River’s full-grain leather upper with a distinctive moc toe provides a classic look you feel familiar with, while the waterproof Danner Dry lining ensures dry feet. The durable rubber outsole offers traction and comfort, making this boot suitable for work or casual wear.

Check out this cozy forest green crew neck from the Museum of Peace and Quiet. How about that brand name, too? 10/10. The minimalist word mark design gives it an easy-going, non-douchey vibe. Made from premium cotton, it's a solid option for a layering piece on cooler evenings. Elevate your casual looks and stay warm on that late walk home from dinner with this versatile sweater.

FORMAL WEAR
Formal with a Twist

To plug our friends at Quaker Marine a bit more, the Western Sea-Washed Shirt in Chambray is the button you press for those formal occasions that you know aren’t going to be over the top fancy. It’s inexorably a nice blue shirt, but it’s got flare by way of its chest pockets, which are cut like the yoke of a bona fide western-style shirt. This paired with dark wash jeans (specifically this pair), a Chelsea boot (specifically this pair) and a jacket with a moderately interesting pattern is a delicious “formal enough” outfit to think about. I want that outfit so badly. We are dialed in tonight, people!

OFFICE WEAR

Oak Street Bootmakers, a renowned American footwear brand, has unveiled the Trench Oxford in Aged Bark Chieftain Rough-out leather. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this boot has a simultaneously rugged and refined aesthetic thanks to the rough-out leather - a new favorite of mine. It’s also got a Vibram sole, which means superior traction and durability.  Embodying the brand's commitment to quality and heritage, this boot is representative of Oak Street's dedication to preserving the art of American shoe making.

ONE LAST THING….
Yes

Sometimes a piece of clothing just makes me say “yes.” This is one of them. A sweater with a Land Rover Defender on it. It looks cozy, it looks interesting, and it’s priced in pounds (which is correct given that LR is a British company). This feels like a grand slam of a Christmas present to me.
