EDITOR’S NOTE

Yesterday was the second birthday of Today in Menswear. Two years exactly since I sent out the Welcome letter to just two subscribers (my mom and dad), the same one that you all got when you signed up.

Tomorrow is the two-year mark since sending the first ever edition as we know it. How romantic to have a Valentine’s Day anniversary. That was back when I posted 3x a week ( 💀 ) and did only one style per category. I was between jobs, so time was not a limiting factor then.

A lot has changed in my life since then, but TIM has remained very constant. I really appreciate that you all still read this. Even though you only communicate back through clicks and email opens, I still see it! It makes me glad every time I see those metrics that there’s still enough resonance that you keep opening up my notes. Thank you to all of you.

Anyway, let’s tap into today.

LUXURY
Charcoal tones

Rivay

Rivay Highlands Shetland Sweater in Charcoal (On sale for $158, down from $328)

This Shetland sweater is spun from Italian melange wool and brushed for a soft feel. The 7-gauge jersey stitch keeps it mid-weight so it layers well under a coat but breathes when worn solo. A touch of lycra in the 2x2 rib at the cuffs and hem stops the fabric from losing shape over time. Made with set-in sleeves and a crewneck, it fits slimmer than old-school Shetlands but still gives you room to move.

Rivay

Rivay Edwards Wool Trouser in Saddle Brown (On sale for $328, down from $478)

Made in Portugal with English superfine merino wool from Fox Brothers, this trouser sits between dress pants and chinos. The fabric holds a sharp crease thanks to the high-twist weave, and a flat front paired with an extended waist tab gives a clean line. Genuine horn buttons and a 15" leg opening split the gap between slim and straight. It's cut to sit at the natural waist with a 32" inseam.

WORKWEAR
CozyFlow

Supreme groutfit-caliber sweat set. It makes me want to put in a 12-hour Netflix shift.

Battenwear

Battenwear Reach-Up Zip Hoody V.2 in Navy (On sale for $196, down from $280)

Made in Japan on a rare knit machine, this 12oz cotton fleece hoodie lands soft right out of the box. The two-way metal YKK zipper runs smooth, while a diamond gusset at the armpit lets you reach and stretch freely. A hood with an adjuster drawcord and a Battenwear logo patch on the left sleeve finish it off.

Battenwear

Battenwear Step-Up Sweatpants V.2 in Navy (On sale for $157.50, down from $250)

These sweatpants use the same 12oz sinker weave cotton fleece as the hoodie, knit in Wakayama, Japan. The drawcords at the waist and ankles lock in a custom fit, and a diamond gusset at the crotch opens up your stride. Roomy hand pockets and a patch back pocket with a Battenwear logo embroidery give you space to stash gear.

STREETWEAR
Correct.

Battenwear

Cut from 100% cotton 8-wale corduroy and made in Japan, these pull-on pants skip the zipper for all-day ease. An elastic waist with a drawcord adjusts to fit, while two side pockets and two back patch pockets keep the small stuff close. The relaxed shape runs true to size, and the prewashed fabric feels broken in from the jump.

FORMAL WEAR
It’s never too early to start thinking about your 4th of July firepit fit…

Vestiaire Collective

This cotton sweater from Polo Ralph Lauren has the brand's USA flag knit across the chest. The material runs warm and thick, making it a solid layer for cool days through early spring. Sized as a large but the cut also works for a bigger medium build. It's a vintage piece in very good shape, sold through Vestiaire.

Vestiare Collective

Cut from cotton in the 2000s, this vintage Polo Sport sweater has never been worn. The American flag graphic sits front and center, and the spring-weight knit keeps it light enough to wear as temps start to rise. It's a size medium with Y2K styling, sold as a vintage find through Vestiaire.

OFFICE WEAR
Completely Delicious

Alex Mill

This sweater uses 100% 2-ply cashmere in a 7-gauge full cardigan stitch that holds shape and stays light across seasons. The knit is fully fashioned, hand-linked, and hand-finished so seams stay flat and the fit doesn't bag out. It's true to size and works under a blazer or worn alone.

Alex Mill

This trench coat bonds double-faced cotton with a waterproof membrane to keep rain from reaching your skin. Under-arm vents and a half-raglan sleeve build let you move without the fabric pulling tight. A high-contrast red interior with navy piping adds a flash of color, while adjuster tabs at the sleeves dial in the fit. The build is inspired by old military mac raincoats.

ONE LAST THING….
Shameless 🔌

Marella (I made this landing page with two Italians this week 🫶 )

One of the brands I run at my 9-5 low key cooked with this year’s Valentine’s Day capsule. They’re not the uber luxury side of Max Mara, but they make good stuff.

If you forgot about V-Day and need to make up for lost ground, or just wanna browse for yourself, ladies, please tap into Marella.

As always, thanks for reading!
