EDITOR’S NOTE
I ate my first slice of deep dish pizza in Chicago this week. While it’s not better than New York or Detroit style in my book, it deserves a seat at the table of great American pizza. It will be a good once-in-a-while slice when visiting that city, and it was a long overdue introduction to the style for my palate.
Anyway, let’s tap into today.
LUXURY
Kiton Moment
This shirt is pure linen, with a soft hand and a sharp collar that works for both laid-back and dressy looks. We get a breezy feel and a nice drape, which helps us stay cool and look sharp at the same time. The buttons are real mother-of-pearl, which is a detail we notice every time we put it on. If you want a shirt that feels special but doesn’t shout, this one nails it.
These loafers use smooth calfskin and have a sleek shape that fits right in at a dinner or a dressy event. The sole is leather, so we get a bit of flex and a classic look underfoot. Each pair is made by hand, which shows in the finish and the way they fit. Slip these on when you want to look sharp but keep things easy.
WORKWEAR
In Honor of the US Open
This golf shoe has a clean white look and a leather upper that gives us a bit of polish on or off the course. The sole is built for grip, so we can walk the links or the street without slipping. We get a padded footbed for comfort, which helps on long days. If you want a shoe that works for both play and work, this is it.
This canvas hat keeps the sun off our face and has a simple, crisp look with Malbon’s logo up front. The strap at the back lets us adjust the fit, so it stays put on windy days. It’s light and easy to pack, making it a solid pick for golf or any day outside. We like how it adds a bit of fun to our gear without trying too hard.
STREETWEAR
WTAPS of Japan
This long sleeve tee has bold dot graphics and a relaxed fit, which gives us a street look that’s easy to wear. The cotton is soft but holds its shape, so it works well on its own or under a jacket. We get ribbed cuffs that keep the sleeves in place and add a bit of structure. This is the kind of shirt we reach for when we want to keep things simple but not plain.
These cargo pants are cut loose with roomy pockets, making them great for days when we need to carry more than just our phone. The cotton twill is tough but not stiff, so we get comfort and a bit of edge. The waist has a drawstring for a better fit, which means we can adjust as needed. We like the way these pants mix utility with a street vibe.
FORMAL WEAR
Delicious Blazers
This blazer uses olive seersucker, which gives us a cool feel and a bit of texture that stands out in a crowd. The patch pockets and soft shoulder keep things relaxed but still sharp enough for a meeting or a night out. We get a single-breasted cut that works with jeans or dress pants. This is a jacket we can wear when we want to look put together without feeling boxed in.
The linen in this blazer has a washed look that gives us a bit of depth and an easy, broken-in feel. The tobacco shade stands out without being loud, and the blazer has patch pockets for a laid-back touch. We get a soft shoulder and a cut that lets us move, so it never feels stiff. This is the kind of jacket we can throw on for a dinner or a day at the office and feel right at home.
ONE LAST THING….
Currently:
I’m watching this show right now and it’s solid. Julianne Moore freaks me tf out, but she is undoubtedly a good actor. Also, Megan Fahey is always up to no good on screen… you know there’s trouble when she’s in the cast. My only complaint: just five episodes?! What the heck…
As always, thanks for reading!
