EDITOR’S NOTE
It’s time to chop off your summer lettuce. Fall looks, fall fashion… they deserve clean lines. Boys, men, the broader TIM readership: get on your barber’s calendar.
Anyway, let’s tap into today.
LUXURY
Material Mix Perfection
It’s getting silly how deep of a merino bag I have…. these quarter zips are bordering on the Platonic ideal of what a QZ should be fabricated out of. Two and a half years and it’s still getting deeper.
This quarter zip is knit from 70% merino wool, 20% silk, and 10% cashmere on an 18-gauge gauge, with yarn spun at the Papi Fabio mill in Italy. A quarter zip sits at the neck, and rope detail on the cuffs and hem adds texture. The blend of merino, silk, and cashmere gives the knit a soft feel against the skin. The sweater is made in Italy.
This navy quarter zip uses the same 70% merino wool, 20% silk, and 10% cashmere in 18-gauge knit. The sweater is made in Italy and is dry clean or hand wash only.
WORKWEAR
Japanese Selvedge, Tapered and Wide
You can wear Japanese selvedge, just please don’t talk about it to people unless you’re asked about it specifically.
The Benjamin is a mid-rise tapered jean cut from 14.5oz Japanese selvedge denim woven at Kuroki Mill. The fuller leg tapers to a wider hem, and a button fly, copper rivets, and a red owl rivet on the left back pocket finish the five-pocket build. The raw denim has a red selvedge line that fades and softens with wear, developing character over time. Every pair is handmade in Aberteifi, Wales, with 100% cotton ecru twill pocket linings.
The Miles is a high-rise, wide-leg jean cut from the same 14.5oz Japanese selvedge denim, woven at Kuroki Mill. The wide leg has a generous hem opening and is designed to fall cleanly as the fabric eases with wear. A button fly, copper rivets, and a red owl rivet on the left back pocket complete the five-pocket layout. The indigo carries a hint of red undertone, and every pair is handmade in Aberteifi, Wales.
STREETWEAR
TBT
Pleasures makes me think of college. Class is still in session.
This hoodie is cut from a 50% polyester and 50% cotton flannel in a mixed plaid pattern. A stitched logo sits at the left chest. The flannel has a soft hand that suits cooler days.
This hoodie is also made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester, with a stitched graphic at the center front. The black colorway keeps the focus on the graphic, a simple choice for everyday wear.
FORMAL WEAR
When The Resort Calls
Is it too early to be thinking about winter trips to the Caribbean?? I don’t really think so… prepare yourselves, folks. Important fact: Vilebrequin has the best aglets I’ve ever encountered across any lace.
These shorts are cut from 98% recycled polyamide and 2% elastane, giving a stretch fabric that moves with the body. The shorter length sits above the knee, and the elastic waistband has a drawstring finished with zamac tips engraved with the brand’s logo. Two side pockets and a rear pocket with a velcro flap keep essentials secure, while two back eyelets let water drain. An inner mesh brief adds plum support, and the shorts are made in Turkey.
These trunks use a jacquard weave with broché embroidery, where decorative threads are laid onto the surface to form the pattern. The elastic waistband has a drawstring finished with zamac tips engraved with the brand’s logo, and two side pockets sit alongside a rear pocket with a velcro flap. Two back eyelets let water drain, and the trunks are made in Morocco, with weaving and dyeing done in Italy.
OFFICE WEAR
Black Linen - Final Sale
This flat-front trouser is cut from a 52% linen and 47% cotton blend with 1% spandex for a little give. Front stitch pintucks, side and back welt pockets, and a button front keep the look tailored. The Onyx colorway is jet black with no added detail, and the inseam runs 30 inches. The linen keeps the trouser airy on warm office days, and it’s on sale for $74, down from $149.
