EDITOR’S NOTE
Good afternoon, subjects.
I failed the Salesforce Marketing Cloud examination. Didn’t know enough about “Marketing Automation” and “Subscriber/Data Mangement.” So I’ll be running that back in November. Thanks for asking and for your well wishes.
Anyway, let’s tap into today.
LUXURY
Tasty zip-ups
Mackintosh cuts the Birgham zip-up blouson in a relaxed, boxy silhouette from Loro Piana wool beaver, made in Japan. A Rain System finish gives the shell water repellence, and a leather zip pull finishes the front. The wool has a soft hand and a natural luster that suits a sharp everyday look. The cut runs large, so sizing down is the advice.
Mackintosh makes the Birgham grey check zip-up in a wide twill of 51% cotton and 49% wool, also made in Japan. Tone-on-tone triple stitching runs along the collar and front edges, and a leather zip pull finishes the front. The fabric breathes and has a cool, dry handle that softens with wear. It has a relaxed cut that fits large, so sizing down is advised.
WORKWEAR
Extremely pure pullovers
What do we like? Merino wool.
When do we want it? Now.
Flint and Tinder makes this crewneck from 100% merino wool, which feels naturally soft against the skin. Merino is naturally insulating, breathable, and easy to wash, so the sweater works across seasons. The dark brown colorway makes it a practical everyday layer.
Flint and Tinder knits this fisherman sweater in a heavy wool with a chunky bobble stitch. The stitch adds structure and insulation, a nod to the Aran Islands sweaters the style traces back to. The dark natural colorway suits both the office and the weekend.
STREETWEAR
Misc. Goods
The next great American pharmaceutical company. Lilly walked so these guys could run. Novo Nordisk: quaking in boots. You heard it here first.
Men didn’t have a bag they could carry with confidence… until this. Don’t loiter on the lip — drop in.
FORMAL WEAR
British Knits
Kent & Curwen cuts this cardigan in a regular fit with a shirt-style collar and a full button-through front. The knit is 51% cotton, 42% polyester (not ideal) and 7% silk, and the ribbed cuffs and hem hold their shape. Tonal rose embroidery sits on the chest pocket, and a woven logo tab finishes the clean back.
Kent & Curwen knits this polo-collar sweater in a regular fit with a three-button placket. It is finely knitted from 90% wool and 10% cashmere, which gives it a soft hand and natural warmth. Tonal Three Lions embroidery sits on the hem, while ribbed cuffs keep the fit secure.
OFFICE WEAR
Chukka and Chukka-adjacent
Grenson builds the Keats on a stitchdown base, with the upper bound over the leather insole and the sole cemented on. The result is a flexible, easy fit from the first wear. A bagged topline and minimal stitching keep the toffee suede upper clean, and a slim rubber wedge sole finishes the profile. Because the stitchdown build cannot be resoled, the Keats is made for regular wear rather than long-term repair.
Grenson makes the Clement as a Goodyear welted chukka in peat suede, a rich brown with clean, classic lines. The chunky rubber sole adds cushioning underfoot without changing the silhouette. The welt means the boot can be resoled at Grenson’s Northampton factory, which extends its life. The G fitting gives the toe box extra room for a wider foot.
