EDITOR’S NOTE
Just wanted to let the chat know that I’ve reduced egg yolk consumption from around 8 per week to just two. I’ve been asked to lower my LDL levels one breakfast at a time. Turns out there is such a thing as too many eggs…
Anyway, let’s tap into today.
LUXURY
Oliver Spencer
Cut from a 75% cotton, 25% linen blend in Portugal, the Morton trouser takes the single pleat seriously. It sits at the hip to give real room without going baggy through the leg, then holds a clean straight line to the hem. The cream tone reads closer to raw than white, which means it works with a wider range of shirts and shoes than the more high-stakes options. This pant sits in that useful space between trouser and chino, structured enough for a jacket but not asking for a tie.
Bench made in Wollaston, Northamptonshire, this three-eyelet derby is built on Goodyear welt construction, which means the sole can be swapped out when it wears down rather than the whole shoe going in the bin. The chocolate suede upper is cut clean with tonal stitching and no ornament, and the Solovair soft suspension sole keeps it comfortable through a full day. The color sits rich enough to work against navy, grey, and denim without calling attention to itself.
WORKWEAR
Nebraska-made bags
Built in Omaha from 20oz duck canvas, this tote draws a straight line back to the coal bags used by Bell Systems and the U.S. Army in the early 20th century. The bottom is cut from upcycled rubberized awning material, which is waterproof. Vintage NOS cotton webbing and steel rivets finish it off. It holds a lot, cleans up easy, and doesn't ask much in return.
The No. 130 is Artifact's everyday carry answer: 18oz cotton twill shell, full-grain harness leather straps, YKK zipper closure, and a solid brass key clip inside. Two exterior pockets sit flush on the front, and a nylon packcloth lining protects what's inside. At 19 inches long and just under six inches deep, it holds a full day's worth. Handmade in small batches in Omaha.
STREETWEAR
Japanese companies are Making Shorts Great Again
The MILS2301 is a six-pocket short cut from 9oz slub yarn denim that has been through a ball-by-bleach wash, giving each pair a slightly uneven, broken-in finish from day one. An elastic and drawcord waist keeps the fit dialed without a belt, and a printed size label sits on the cargo pocket in WTAPS' standard code format. The indigo reads like denim but wears like a short. Made in Japan.
Cut from organic cotton canvas in a fatigue silhouette, the MILS0001 takes the six-pocket military short and leaves it alone. Accordion cargo pockets, a hidden drawcord waist, and a printed name tag at the cargo pocket right side are the only details worth noting. The olive drab is the most militaristic of the three colorways and the one that makes the most sense next to the denim above. Made in Japan.
FORMAL WEAR
Linen, Long and Short
The Barges trouser is 100% linen in a relaxed straight cut, with a drawstring and elastic waist that keeps things easy without reading sloppy. Front pleats give it just enough tailored shape, and the button-flap back pockets hold the line between smart and casual. White linen is a commitment, but it's the kind that pays off when the rest of the room is sweating through cotton. Machine washable FTW.
Same Barges build as the trouser above, cut short. The 100% linen shell, drawstring waist, front pleats, and button-flap back pockets carry over, and the stone colorway sits in that useful warm neutral zone that works with almost any top. At 8.5 inches of inseam, it's long enough to wear somewhere that isn't the beach. Machine washable as well.
OFFICE WEAR
Cashmere Polos on sale
This 100% cashmere polo is feather-light, with a short-sleeve cut and a front-neck button closure that keeps it in polo territory without going full prep. The heather grey is a clean, low-commitment tone that sits under a jacket as well as it stands on its own. On sale now at $130 — final sale, no returns.
Same 100% cashmere construction as the grey, with a short-sleeve cut and front-button neck. The brown reads warm and earthy against tan chinos or navy trousers, and the suede logo tab at the left cuff is the only mark on it. If the grey is the year-round workhorse, the brown is the one with a bit more character.
ONE LAST THING: Official WC Prediction
🇪🇸2 - 1🇦🇷

You heard it here first. Mikel Oyarzabal to score. Spain to lift the trophy. Messi fumbles at the 1 yard line.
A textbook Greek/Shakespearean tragedy to end his international career. The FIFA Fix stops at Spain.
As always, thanks for reading!
