EDITOR’S NOTE
F R I D A Y. friday. Viernes. 周五. !!!!!!!! This edition has a darkish green theme to it — I hope you enjoy.
Anyway, let’s tap into today.
LUXURY
Bottega Teva’s
Take Teva’s, but make them in Italy with an intrecciato woven leather upper characteristic of Bottega Veneta. Do that, and you end up with this pair of BV Men's Trip Intrecciato Sandals. This is the ultimate luxury level-up of the ultimate granola adventure shoe. I was aghast to see this, but the more I look at it, the more I love it.
WORKWEAR
Carhartt FW24
Carhartt put together a nice FW24 look book that published this week. The collection focuses on workwear staples like jackets and pants. My personal favorite is the duck camo jacquard that you see above… Otherwise, there are loads of jackets, hoodies and shackets made to endure the elements. As expected, there are a variety of new colors and details while also incorporating styles from varsity, outdoor, and military apparel.
STREETWEAR
Knit Vans
Vans Off the Wall is doing a lot of interesting new things these days (I recently got the Authentic 44s). This pair of Engineered Knit 36s are the latest addition to that experimental catalog, featuring a fully knit upper. Paying homage to a classic Vans motif, the large side panels are checked in green and turquoise — that’s good. There’s also a colorway in what OTW describes as “potting soil,” so check that one out if you like the look but want a different palate.
FORMAL WEAR
New Knit
Another week, another knit polo. Rails has released a new Hardy Ribbed Polo Shirt for men, offering their take on this now-popular style. The shirt features a ribbed texture, adding visual interest and a modern touch to the standard polo design. Available in various colors, this polo provides options for different looks and outfits.
OFFICE WEAR
Texturized Woven Loafers
Donald Pliner's Dacio loafers offer a refined take on relaxed formal footwear. These slip-ons feature woven leather uppers, giving them a unique texture and a distinctly summery visual appeal. The bit detail adds a touch of class, making them suitable for both relaxed and dressier events. With their blend of comfort and style, these loafers could become a go-to choice for you this August.
ONE LAST THING….
A Robotic What?
In a completely unsolicited product release, Arc’teryx has announced order reservations for a pair of robotic pants. They purportedly stave off fatigue on long hikes, and are the pant equivalent to an e-bike. They will sell for $5,000. 🤔
