An Open Question

Should Etnies still be the Nickleback of footwear? Perpetually mocked and the butt of the joke?

I’m not sold or decided on the matter, but I haven’t heard this question posed in over a decade. And as we know, sh*t that we once thought could never come back in style often does…

Like… is this so bad? The Etnies Barge LS shoe combines a tough black upper with accents of grey and black. It’s designed with a padded collar and tongue for comfort and shock-absorbing soles that grip well for all-day wear. Don’t Reinvent the Wheel

I saw this guy on the platform of the E Train two days ago wearing a basic, full cotton chino, blue button down with white stripe, and brown loafers. He looked great… Granted he was seriously fit, had a fantastic Filson bag, and a nice pair of tortoiseshell shades on…

But it reminded me that menswear has cheat codes. You don’t have to be at the bleeding edge to look good. Basics like well-fitting khaki chinos and brown loafers can be worn any day, on almost any occasion, and you’re going to look good.
