I had to level up my attire for work recently, so I did a good amount of in-person shopping during the Memorial Day Weekend rainout on 5th Ave. Each of these brands you’re seeing below, in fact every single product, I saw in person, touched and even tried on. Hope you enjoy!

Buck Mason - Natural Como Cashmere L/S Polo

The greatest feeling shirt I’ve ever touched. Not even close to kidding. It’s was 15% cashmere and 85% cotton (doesn’t say on the site, but it did on the tag). That said, it felt like the most luxurious fabric. I want to live and sleep in this fabric. The collar also laid so daintily on the shoulders, the ribbing was the right level of tight, the cream color was tasteful.

I genuinely have no notes… It was $300 on 5th Avenue and is less than $200 online. Bargain if you ask me.

Buck Mason - Herringbone Twill Carry-on Jacket

This was the other piece that immediately got me to stop flipping through the rack. Totally unstructured on the inside, it melds to whatever you’ve got on under it. Be that a sweater, an Oxford shirt, even a tee. I’m always a fan of menswear in olive green. Lastly, the Herringbone was subtle, but still flickered in the afternoon sunlight. Nice…

Men’s Offtrail Hike LT Mid GORE-TEX® Boots

I was surprised to see TNF take on a boot that Hoka has come to dominate. Hoka makes a mean Gore-Tex trail boot, but TNF’s is a very well received addition to the show. Light, waterproof where it should be, and they had a colorway in all black. What more is there to ask for?

Base Camp™ Duffel Shoulder Bag

Men have so few options when it comes to bags that they can day-carry. It’s such a problem… Most of it is stigma I think. Nobody wants to be told they’re holding a “murse” in the wild.

But that doesn’t solve the fact that I don’t love it when I have a sh*t ton of stuff crammed into my pockets and am aware that my $250 AirPods could fall out on the subway at any moment.

I legit bought this micro-duffle on Saturday and have used is like 3x already. It’s objectively not a murse, and it is small enough that you can carry it with ease.

Rodd & Gunn - Coromandel Shirt in Snow

This was the Platonic ideal of a linen shirt. It was $148, so you’re not playing around with this one, but how many lifetime wears of a white linen shirt are you going to get? Is it really a stretch to say that the right shirt gets work 100 times over a couple of years? 200?

If the answer is yes to anything in the three digits, then there’s really no reason why you wouldn’t opt for the one made of 100% Italian linen with metal buttons that’s completely machine washable. That’s just ridiculously well-rounded for a shirt as classic as this.

The light blue below was gorgeous as well, and there were twenty one total colorways. I really wanted to tell the boutique associate to just pack up the rack for me and deal with the credit card debt later.

Muji - Cotton Oxford Shirt in White

If you’re looking for cotton (which you should be), this option was really excellent for the materials and cost. For $39, you get a classic Oxford shirt with the proper button-down collar and a very sturdy build. This was not a cheap weave of cotton, it was thick.

I got four of these in different colors (white, navy, light blue, grey), and have already put two through a wash and iron. Very nice shirt. Unbeatable price for what you’re getting. Tap in.
