EDITOR’S NOTE

Reason to stay away from Midtown reason 531-C: the UN is in session and unless you have military grade ear protection, you’re going to do lasting damage to your ear drums courtesy of police escorts.

Anyway, let’s tap into today.

LUXURY
Dries - Fitter Extraordinaire

The Belgian designed Dries Van Noten may have left his eponymous house, but his penchant for dressing men without capacious bagginess will live on without him. This checked wool suit does something most of our clothes are too scared to do: fit the wearer to his body. The soft shoulder and single button closure demonstrate that Dries is fitted to hug your body, not drape over the contours of it. I’ve found myself putting aside a long-held desire to size up on everything more than ever this year. The experimentation with form fitting is a new frontier for me. Dries Van Noten is perhaps the designer that executes this type of menswear best.

WORKWEAR
Gore-Tex Sauconys

Last Friday, we went over why thick-soled sneakers are so wavy. Now what if you took a chunker of a runner and added in Gore-Tex material to waterproof the whole thing? That’s what happened with the Saucony Triumph 22 GTX sneaker… I wear Saucony’s myself and feel a sense of pride in not having succumbed to Hoka-mania and On Syndrome. If these had been on my radar, I would have happily gotten these over my plain black and white pair. Once those die out, I’m tapping right on into the 22 GTX’s.

STREETWEAR

One of the most difficult tasks in a skate wardrobe is keeping a 100% polyester piece as cozy as it was the day you bought it. The recent capsule collaboration between Commes des Garcon and The North Face affords you that challenge. This full poly pullover is going to be cooooozy on day one, but can you keep it that way? Pro tips from someone that kept a full poly Palace sweatpant wearable for 4 years: NO dryers, store it where it can sit in peace, minimize exposure to sweat or rain, and use a sweater comb once a year.

FORMAL WEAR
Earth tone Cardigan <3

Loro Piana's Pastore cardigan is your grandfather’s cardigan that falls with the proportions of modernity. Crafted from pure cashmere, this piece offers warmth without bulk, making it ideal for layering. The ribbed trim at the cuffs, hem, and pockets adds subtle texture, while the V-neck design allows for easy styling with collared shirts. (Remember, though: undershirt, underage.) Available in a rich brown hue, this cardigan is a refined choice for the man who values quality and comfort in his wardrobe.

OFFICE WEAR
Sandro’s GAT

Sandro's Retro Mesh Training Sneakers are giving German Italian Army Trainer. These low-tops have mixed suede and mesh on the upper, keeping them breathable. The chunky rubber sole upholds GAT requirements, and the general subtlety of the branding is what draws me in. Perfect for casual outings and low-stakes work environments, these sneakers blend retro charm with current trends.

ONE LAST THING….
More Cardigan.

Courtesy of Loewe

Yeah, sure, I showed you a baggier cardigan than usual in the Formal Wear section. But what if you want more cardigan? Bring in this cashmere number from Loewe……… still looking for more cardigan now?
